My Best Landscape Images from 2016

Best Landscape Images 2016

I have finally gotten around to picking my best landscape images of 2016. This helps me compare against my work of previous years to determine if I can see an improvement. Ansel Adams  said that 12 good images in any year was a successful one and I fully agree.

2016 was year mixed year. I got out and about around Ireland a lot early in the year and managed to create some of my best landscape images. The summer on the other hand was a miserable affair. Every time I ventured out the weather turned rotten and I really struggled. It got so disheartening, I put the camera away for a month or so. The Isle of Skye finally got ticked off the list at the end of 2016.

I have picked 10 of my best landscape images of 2016 and put them in a gallery below. 5 colour / 5 mono. It turned out a tough choice in the end. I had whittled my choice down from 60 images to 20 but then really struggled to pick the best 10. Its a nice problem to face.

What does 2017 hold in store for me? What are my new landscape photography resolutions? More of the same to be honest with a focus on improving my post processing skills.

I have another trip planned back to the Isle of Skye in January, hoping to capture some of the images that eluded me the 1st time round. Other than that, its just about getting out as often as time permits.
